The Archaeological Museum of Milos is located in Plaka and is housed in a beautiful neoclassical building, the work of Ernest Ziller. It has been operating since 1985 with exhibits dating from the Neolithic to the Byzantine period. With collections from the prehistoric era of Fylakopi, a collection of sculptures and inscriptions and a collection of obsidian. Entering the Museum, in Room A, dominates the faithful copy statue of Aphrodite of Milos, which comes from the laboratory of the Louvre Museum, where the original statue is located. In the same room you will see a burial pit of the 6th century BC. Then in Room B you can see some prehistoric objects, period from the 5th millennium to the end of the 2nd millennium BC. In Room C, you will find Hellenistic and Roman works, several coins, and tools, geometric, archaic and classical. In the last Room D, you will see objects from the ancient city of Klima and sculptures from the Hellenistic and Roman periods. The Archaeological Museum of Milos is one of the most beautiful spectacles that exist, and you should definitely visit.
