The Mining Museum of Milos is located in Adamas. Its purpose is to promote the rich geological and mining history of Milos and to honor those who worked for the exploitation of its mineral wealth, which contributed significantly to the economic and cultural prosperity of the island and its historical course. The museum was created and operates with the support of Imerys Industrial Minerals Hellas SA. Its construction began in 1995 and was completed three years later, opening its gates to the public on May 23, 1998. With the aim of informing and educating the public, the museum organizes periodic exhibitions, scientific conferences, visits to industrial sites, mines and areas of geological interest, while also undertaking the publication of books on topics related to mineral wealth and mining.
